MTCI Inaugurated the Areia Branca Touristic Place

DILI – To attract the tourists attention and to promote TL image in the world , this country needs to improve the potential areas of tourism  , because this sector is one of the factors  used to attract  investiments into the country  .  For this reason, the government through the Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Industry has established various policies to further improvement of abandoned touristic places. The efforts made by MTCI were not in vain, producing positive results like this one, which shows us the opening of this touristic place of Areia Branca, Friday (23/04).

            “ To officialize the Beach of Areia Branca, with better conditions which the  government performs in the areas of  Tourism,  so that tourists and the Timorese people  can have fun and ride with the family," said Minister of Tourism, Trade and Industry, in  the opening ceremony of the inauguration at Areia Branca Beach.

            .According to Minister Gil, the construction of Areia Branca Beach will continue to create even more extensive facilities.

            “Besides of the beach of Areia Branca, we can still enjoy its climate which is typically natural. The Monument of Cristo - Rei is categorized as a part of religious tourism, whose project will have its continuation. The  fundamental base is Eco Tourism, aiming at promoting the  Timor-Leste  Tourism to the world “ said the Minister.

            Minister Gil added that, tourism is the most dynamic sector that can offer job opportunities and self-employment for people or create jobs for themselves, because there are many young people who will participate in training course in the subject area of hospitality that is easy to create fields work for ourselves and not depend on others.

            Regarding the safety and maintenance of the Areia Branca Beach, the Minister Gil said that MTCI carries out activities integrated with other Ministry and Secretaries of State.

            "The Secretary of State Security will offer delightful security to the place of  tourism , which the government has already rehabilitate and under the  responsibility of MTCI, but in the cultural area, MTCI works in collaboration with the Secretariat of State for Culture," said Minister Gil.

            However, the Minister Gil emphasize that the problem is,91; background: white;"> TL has to face the problem of infrastructure. " If the basic infrastructure already improved, certainly it will cover also the religious tourism and agro tourism to the Districts and Sub-districts.

            " There is much that we had already included in the strategic plan, and it must  start with step-by-step , making it even better showing  to the world  that East Timor can also develop the economic sector that is dynamic through the sector  of tourism, " said Gil.

            Minister Gil also thanked the Montana Diak company that repaired the roads with the budget of their own company to contribute to  the government.

            " I want to thank the company Montana Diak , that has  just repaired  the roads outside the government  budget! This shows us that, as  Timorese, it  has contributed to the development of the Nation , " stated the Minister.

            Besides having repaired the roads  with a lenght of 400 meters  and width of 7.60 cm, Montana Diak  Company , also built this monument  with the symbol Lafaek ( Crocodile ), representing  the nation of Timor-Leste offering in particular to the IV constitutional government.

            Gil also appealed to the community that is living in the surrounding areas, to preservere the facilities that the state has already created for the improvement of Timor-Leste image.

            " I appeal to all communities of the people of Timor - Leste , so that each of us must take care of the facilities that the government has already built, so they can continue to exist and only then can we save our image. Seeks to understand not to throw all the garbage anyway, make fires, and kill any species of trees. If we destroy it all, will cause negative impact to our country and create insecurity “appealled Gil.

            In this opening ceremony, the Minister of the TCI also made the delivery of the certificate of appreciation to the Company Montana Diak, through the Director of the Company, Lay Seng Fu.

            This company also thanked  the MTCI for entrusting him  in the implementation of the Areai Branca Beach rehabilitation . In spite of  many difficulties, the company continued to struggle  in the  rehabilitation to achieve positive results.

            The Director of the Company, through its spokesman said, this monument of Lafaek was built in order to offer to the government, because during this time, there isn`t any building monument in Timor-Leste with this symbol of Lafaek as a contribution to TL nation.

            The Director of the Company also asked the government to put safety at the tourism places which the government has already allocated enough budgets to rehabilitate such places of tourism. And in the future, will also be allocated a budget for the rehabilitation of the tourist places abandoned.

            Because this company believes that, if there is no security for these places of tourism they will be damaged. The Rehabilitation of the Areia Branca Beach spent a total budget amounting to U.S. $ 600,000, applied in two phases: first phase of $ 300 thousand and the second phase U.S. $300 000.
