Inauguration of 12 restaurants in Metiaut - MTCI handed to the Group of 26 women.

DILI - The Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Industry on Saturday (08/01), recently, held the opening  of 12 restaurants in Metiaut and were delivered to a group of 26 women to develop the activities of business. The Minister of the TCI, Gil da Costa Alves, in his speech expressed his wishes good luck to those groups to whom they were  entrusted by the government to use these restaurants to develop their business activities. He asked the owners of these restaurants to take advantage of these good  opportunities.

"Good luck to you, help one another to better improve your services and promote better your lives through these opportunities provided by government. This is an opportunity for small companies starting their business in good condition and also improve the quality  in the  services  to consumers," said Minister Gil.

The Minister also asked the owners of the restaurants to be righteous in competition with quality of meals services to attract the attention of consumers for patronising restaurants. At the same time, also the President of the Republic, Dr. Jose Ramos Horta, that also marked its presence in the  ceremony, expressing his  congratulations to the Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Industry, which already started  the  project in the areas of the Metiaut Beches, as  the means of showing the  coastal  resources of Timor – Leste.

PR Horta, also asked the groups to whom they were entrusted to the restaurants use with responsibitity. "I urge all of you who obtained these opportunities by the government to use these restaurants with responsibility, also improving the quality of services. Congratulations and Good luck to you all, " said PR Horta.

On the same occasion, the Director General of MTCI Dr. Manuela G. B. Corte-Real, who has the responsibility to take care of these projects said, the restaurants that are hold by MTCI, are  in  total of 12, and each house can be divided into two reastaurant and the total is 26 restaurants.

The budget allocated to this project, according to the Director General, said that, the money allocated by MTCI is totaling $ 950,000, taken from the General State budget for fiscal year 2009. Construction began in December 2009 and ended in December 2010. About the Regulations, the Director General said: "these groups that use these restaurants, will have to pay the amount of the cash value of $ 50 for units small restaurant and $ 80.00 for big restaurant units, paid monthly in the bank account of the State," explained the Director. The MTCI also gave confidence LNO companies to manage these restaurants. On the outcome of inauguration, PR Horta accompanied by Minister of TCI, the directors and the community of Metiaut visited restaurants to proove  foods that have been prepared by the owners of restaurants.
