Lisbon – The Minister of Tourism, Trade and industry of Timor-Leste , Gil da Costa Alves visited Portugal, and had a meeting with his counterpart , Minister of Tourism, Trade and Industry from Portugal, José Antonio Vieira da Silva. The purpose of this meeting is to establish close relations between Timor-Leste and Portugal in the sectors of trade and tourism. According to the Minister Gil, this meeting is a good opportunity for Timor-Leste to learn from Portugal, mainly in the area of trade, so that in future Timor can also enter the European market.
"This meeting gives us the confidence to perform many jobs. And Portugal also is willing to cooperate with us. Thus, both parties may take advantages from the market of Asia and the European market, and the explicit willingness on the part of the Minister of Economy from Portugal that responds upon the subject of aspirations related to the development of the Timoreese, " said Gil Alves. This meeting was held in the regional secretariat of tourism and transport.
