"It is so important to hear the experiences of Madeira . Its history is really similar to that of  Timor-Leste, which is now trying to develop itself. This should be enough , not only because the people of Madeira  is a people-brother, but also because of the natural characteristics similar to East Timor, and the other sectors that are already more developed, which basically share similarities with our territory, "said  Minister Gil.

"The region of Madeira became as a practical reference about how to develop a country, when we talk about our situation that is identical to Madeira, 30 years ago," said Minister Gil. In this opportunity, the Minister Gil praised the success achieved by the region of Madeira in the areas of infrastructure, development of basic services such as water supply network, parks, schools and other matters related to tourism and industry.

"This is an example of a success, the way the Madeira take all resources that exist in its own" box ", as well as the aid received from the European Union or of the Central Government. However, if our brothers come later , this is a problem, "said Gil.   The Minister Gil Alves stressed again that, Timor-Leste  will have to distinguish the difference related to  other tourists destinations in South-West Asia that  today  became  truly potentials places.
