The official launch of the 2010 Darwin Dili Rally was held at the Darwin Sailing Club on Friday 12 February 2010. The launch was officiated by The Honourable Gil Alves, the Timor-Leste Minister for Tourism, together with Timor-Leste Government officials and  representatives of the Timor-Leste Tourism Association.  Around 80 people attended the launch, including prospective participants and a number of sailors who sailed in the 1973 and 1974 Darwin Dili Yacht Races.  The President of CYANT presented Minister Alves with the 1974 Darwin Dili Yacht Race perpetual tropies, which had been in storage in Darwin.  These trophies will be presented to the winners of the 2010 event.
